Common questions

How deep do you set the posts?

We set posts a minimum of one-third of the total post length in concrete, always below the frost line. Middle Tennessee frost depth is around 12 inches — we go to 24 or deeper.

Do you handle HOA approval?

We can help with documentation and specifications, but approval is between you and your HOA. We build to whatever specs they require.

Cedar vs. pressure-treated — what is the difference?

Cedar looks better and smells great but costs a bit more. Pressure-treated is more resistant to ground contact rot. For above-ground pickets we usually recommend cedar. For posts we recommend pressure-treated.
